To celebrate the release of I Make Shoes with Rizzoli New York, SPUNGE presents the limited-edition SPUNGE x Rizzoli Osmosis. Wearing the silhouette is Rizzoli Publisher and Editorial Director Charles Miers. A lifelong long-distance runner, Miers brings the same endurance and intuition to his work. “I still run thousands of miles a year,” he says, “and all that running has given me a very intimate connection to and awareness of exactly how a shoe should feel.” His sensitivity to detail and form extends beyond the page, into motion, texture, and lived experience. Founded in 1974, Rizzoli is a leader in illustrated books across fashion, art, architecture, design, and culinary subjects. Its flagship Rizzoli Bookstore in New York’s NOMAD district remains one of America’s foremost independent booksellers, known for its curated selection of art and international literature. The collaboration marks a milestone in Salehe Bembury’s legacy, pairing the debut of SPUNGE’s first collaboration with the book that captures the path that brought him here.
